About Us

Hila Tamir, Manufacturing ERP Consultant

Because I’ve seen the power of DelmiaWorks (IQMS) to cut costs and optimize profitability so many times, I know that, together, we can customize this ERP system to do the same in your plant.

I’ve spent thousands of hours listening to the needs and pain points of plant managers, shift supervisors, machine and floor operators and  IT professionals. I take all of this information into consideration when customizing DelmiaWorks (IQMS) to:

  • systematize scheduling and machine maintenance,
  • ensure inventory accuracy,
  • solve bill of materials issues,
  • address work order challenges, and so much more.

When I encounter resistance, I listen closely and then suggest how Delmiaworks can make each stakeholder’s job easier and more effective. I get the greatest satisfaction from my job when I hear someone who was initially resistant get excited about the system and press me on what else DelmiaWorks can do to make them more productive and less frustrated.

The Genesis of Tamir Consulting

In the 26 years from the start of my career, manufacturing plants have been my home.

An Experienced Information Systems Developer

A degree in Industrial Engineering sparked my affinity for information systems and quality assurance. Like all Israelis, I owed my country military service, and started my first job with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). There, I built my first customized information systems. Once military service concluded, I moved to the United States, where I joined the fast-growing PROTOGENESIS, a prototyping house/CNC shop. The customized information systems I developed in my four years there helped the company meet growing business needs.

ERP Systems and DataBases

In 1997 PROTOGENESIS was sold to Specialty Manufacturing, Inc. (SMI), a leader in thermoforming located in San Diego, CA. I joined the SMI team as IT manager, responsible for ERP implementation and website development. During the same period, I ran a small business developing customized information systems, some of which are still used today by San Diego businesses.

DelmiaWorks, ISO 9001/13485, CQE and SSBB

Beginning in 2004, I successfully ran both the IT and Quality departments for SMI. The quality department focused on ISO 9001 compliance as well as GMP/GDP. The Quality Management System (QMS) I implemented brought new customers that contributed to the company’s exponential growth. During these years, I also obtained a Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) and an ASQ-CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification.

In 2010 SMI was acquired by Providien. The company’s focus shifted to medical device manufacturing. I completed the BSI Lead Auditor certification program and led Providien's successful ISO 13485 initial certification. This was done through implementation of the Quality Modules of a new ERP system, IQMS (now DelmiaWorks.) The work helped me become an EIQ Quality Module expert, and I was frequently called upon to share my insights and experience with other Providien divisions as well as other IQMS customers.

By 2012, I had gained additional IQMS training (SysAdmin, Quality, MFG I & II, Crystal Reports, CRM, Inventory Management) and experience implementing the various IQMS modules in other SMI departments as well as other Providien companies. I became a Crystal Report expert and champion of IQMS.

DelmiaWorks and Operations

In 2013, Providien promoted me to Director of Quality and Operations. My ability to "make IQMS do what we need it to do" led to additional promotions (Sr. Director of Operations, VP of Operations).

The years 2013-2019 showed double-digit profitability and increased IQMS implementation. By 2016, I had P&L responsibilities over multiple Providien divisions. ERP scalability allowed for this fast adaptation and better utilization of resources as the plants migrated to running 24/7.

Today, my mission is to find and rectify the gaps in manufacturing plants’ processes. When my clients tell me about the tens of thousands of dollars in costs they saved, I know I’ve done my job well.
